The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic Family Fraternal Organization with over 1.7 million members in nine countries. It is the largest lay order in the Roman Catholic Church and has been described by the late Pope John Paul II as the “right arm of the Church”. This comment was surely initiated after His Holiness witnessed the works of the Order in the areas of Church, Community, Family, Youth and Council.

Within each country where the Knights are present, they are organized into jurisdictions called, “States” which coincides with the provincial or state boundaries of the country. In the jurisdiction of Ontario the “What We Do” section of our website presents some of the ways the knights in Ontario support the Church, Community, Family Youth and local Councils.

Please look at the “Insurance” site to acquaint yourself with the fraternal benefits available to Knights and their families through our insurance and investment products offered through our Agency Department and the General and Field Agents of Ontario.

From the “Charities raffle” button you will see how the knights in Ontario support Church, Community, Family and Youth through funds raised by the raffle and donated by the Knights of Columbus Ontario Charities Foundation and the local councils.

Specifically in support to our Youth, you are invited to browse through the “Leadership Camp”, “Substance Abuse”, “Free Throw” and Columbian Squires sections. Our Catholic Youth Leadership Camp has for many years developed strong young Catholic male and female leaders who have returned to their schools as examples for their peers and who have profited by their camp experience in their adult life.

With the ever increasing worry we have in the Community and Family about the dangers to our Youth of alcohol and substance abuse, an annual poster contest tries to highlight the wise way to act as stated by our youth themselves.

Our Basketball Free Throw competition offers youngsters from the age of 9 through 14 a low contact, high degree of fun experience that gives them an opportunity to compete for themselves, their school, their region and potentially be recognized on the International level.

This is only a bit of “What We Do”. If you want to know more contact a local Knight. He and his family will be proud to sing the praises of the Knights of Columbus in Ontario.
